The Early Poems of John Greenleaf Whittier from 1887. We found this rare, leather bound poetry book in a small book shop in New Mexico this year. It is in very good condition for being 132 years old. Some shelf wear on the edges of the leather cover. Some browning on the pages. One inscription (see photo). No other markings. Two old newspaper articles from The Boston Journal are tipped in at the back cover. They refer to the poets 84th birthday and one article on his will. This beautiful volume would make a great gift.
